This month, we got to know our SKILLS Housing Manager at Harbour House a little better….
What’s a project or achievement you’re proud of?
Many years ago, I was leading a Dom care service in Suffolk, I project managed and was awarded the ISO 9001 accreditation. We were inspected by CQC and rated as “Outstanding”. Suffolk County Council recognised us as the number 1 care provider in Suffolk, based on their own survey of service user’s county wide. That was a decent year!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Watching the guys that live here lead more fulfilling lives, taking up new hobbies or revisiting old ones where they now have the freedom to express themselves fully.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Mind reading would have been useful as child, as having 3 sisters it would have been nice to know in advance what horrible things they had planned for me that day.
What is your favourite hobby
Ipswich Town football club is my passion and has been all my life. I also enjoy astronomy, history and science fiction, I’m a Star Wars nerd.
Favourite place you’ve travelled to (or want to go)?
I have been to Egypt and travelled through Cairo, visited the Pyramids, Sphinx and the Egyptian museum. I would love to visit the West Indies when England are playing a Test Match there.
What is one thing you cannot work without? (e.g., coffee, music, a specific tool)
Bacon roll and a latte from Greggs
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Erudite, calm and hilarious.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 things would you bring?
A deck chair, a solar powered fridge and lots of beer.

I can waggle my ears, that’s about it!
