Celebrating independence and community involvement

At Skills Community Housing, we encourage our tenants to develop greater independence, build confidence and become more actively involved in their local communities.

Down in Bexhill, one of our tenants has taken a fantastic step by starting a volunteering role at a local community hub. It’s wonderful to see the tenant embracing the opportunity and becoming a valued member of the team.

The volunteering manager had some lovely words to say:

“The tenant is a reliable and committed member of the team. They always arrive with a smile and are happy to do whatever is asked of them.”

The tenant also shared how much they are enjoying their new role:

“The manager helps me with everything and is great at what she does. It’s a wonderful place to work. I help with washing up and clearing the tables.”

It’s fantastic to see our tenant enjoying their volunteering, building confidence, developing new skills and making a positive contribution to their local community.
