The programme was designed to provide a varied, responsive & sustainable Key Independence, Life and Living Skills Programme in the community, promoting Skills Development for adults with learning difficulties to lead their best lives, and offer a taster of individualised supported learning opportunities to enable the development of key skills needed in everyday living.
The course was delivered in a community learning venue, The Pelham in Bexhill, enabling real skills to be developed in a supported/lively environment. The aim of the workshops was to ensure that the most vulnerable get the support they need to develop & maintain their independence, and this is provided at or as close to home as possible.
The six courses were: Core Life Skills, Core Values, Introductions & Icebreakers, Choices Sensory Workshop; Movement & Music; Self-care; Hopes, Dreams & Aspirations; Creating an Action Plan. The course was a very well-received event with excellent feedback from both participants and session leads. We look forward to welcoming many people to more courses in the future.
